Money - Lottery winning jackpot.
BROOK PARK, OH – Judy, a local resident of Brook Park, is celebrating a surprising win of $10,000 from the Ohio Lottery’s Bingo Times 25 scratch-off game.
During a routine check of her tickets using the Ohio Lottery app, Judy discovered what she initially thought was a $5 win was actually $10. But the real shock came with another ticket that she scanned. “It absolutely surprised the heck out of me,” Judy said, describing her reaction when the app revealed a $10,000 win. Despite her knack for predicting wins when scratching, this time she missed the signs until reviewing the ticket.
Judy’s winning ticket came from Smith & Snow Shell, located at 5918 Smith Rd in Brook Park. After the mandatory state and federal taxes, which total 28%, she will take home about $7,200.
With her winnings, Judy plans to save for a trip abroad next year. She also intends to allocate funds for minor car repairs and assist a close friend in need of financial support.
Bingo Times 25 offers a top prize of $100,000 and is priced at $5 per ticket. As of August 9, there are four top prizes still available.
- Cory Booker’s Intern is Running for Office in Toms River
Toms River, NJ—The Toms River Democrats have replaced Susan Payne Gato on the November ballot for the Ward 2 election with a far more progressive liberal candidate. The move comes after Gato, according to party insiders, was seen as too moderate by Democrats aligned with former Mayor Maurice Hill, Terrance Turnbach, and Laurie Hawryk.
All three of those politicians no longer serve in office after residents rallied against their plans to turn downtown Toms River into a small city.
The announcement was made days after Rodrick announced he had killed that team's plan to build a massive downtown apartment hi-rise project.
A former intern of U.S. Senator Cory Booker, Zachary Dougherty, was named as Gato's replacement, even though Gato won the party's June primary election and after seeing that Gato had polled poorly against William Byrne, Democrats, like those at the national level, pulled the plug on Gato's campaign.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Dougherty works as a community organizer at the League of Women Voters of New Jersey. He previously interned for New Jersey U.S. Senator Cory Booker until last May. He previously interned for U.S. Democrat Congressman Andy Kim.
He served as vice chair and president of the New Jersey High School Democrats and was a county recruiter for Governor Phil Murphy's campaign.
Last month, Doughtery and his organization pushed to register 600 new citizens to vote after a historic immigrant citizenship ceremony in Trenton.
- Maryland State Police Aviation Command Conducts Multiple Rescue Missions
The Maryland State Police Aviation Command (MSPAC) was crucial in three separate rescue operations involving a swimmer, a hiker, and an ATV operator over the past weekend in Maryland and West Virginia. These missions underscored the versatility and critical role of the MSPAC in emergency responses.
On Saturday afternoon, the Trooper 5 helicopter crew from Cumberland conducted a hoist mission at Audra State Park in Belington, West Virginia. They rescued a swimmer who had suffered a diving head injury. The individual was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, for medical treatment.
The following day, Trooper 3 from Frederick carried out a rescue operation for an injured hiker on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in Garrett County, Maryland. Due to the severe nature of the injuries and the challenging terrain, aerial rescue was deemed necessary. The hiker was airlifted to Meritus Medical Center in Washington County.
Later on Sunday evening, Trooper 5 was again called into action to rescue an ATV operator with a neck injury in Georges Creek Valley, Lonaconing, Maryland. The operator was hoisted and transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Since its inception in 1970, the MSPAC has been an essential service, operating a fleet of 10 AW139 helicopters from seven bases across the state. Their missions include medevac, law enforcement, search and rescue, homeland security, and disaster assessment, often in coordination with local and federal agencies.

Currently, no arrests have been made in connection to the stabbing. The suspect was last seen wearing all black. The police investigation into the incident continues, as they work to identify and locate the perpetrator.
