Friends, science and faith (placing one's trust in God) are not mutually exclusive. Far from it, actually!🙏🏼 🧬 🔭 📕To quote Mathematician Dr. John Lennox, “asking people to choose between God and science is like asking people to choose between Henry Ford and engineering as an explanation of the motor car.” Lennox presents that “men [and women] became scientific because they expected law in nature. And they expected law in nature because they believed in the Lawgiver.” [1] -Bacon -Pasteur -Kepler -Newton -Galileo -Mendel -Boyle -and more 📕See Genesis 1 & 2, Isaiah 40:25-28, & Romans 1:20.You might not need this information to enrich your confidence/faith in God, but a family member or neighbor just might (1 Peter 3:15-16). At the very least, I hope this video encourages you. 1. Tim Barnett elaborates upon the Scientific Revolution: https://lnkd.in/gFSqhEMDhttps://lnkd.in/gnujE3Xm

Our faith is a 'yes and' faith. That's something I love about it.

I have one of Lennox’s books on my reading list this year. Listened to a great interview between him and Dr. Jordan Peterson some time ago.

“Sometimes you gotta make an apologetic for #apologetics. Often well-meaning Christians spout off pious-sounding platitudes like ‘faith isn’t based on reason, that’s why it’s called faith,’ or ‘God doesn’t need us to defend him, just preach the gospel.’ That sounds spiritual, but it isn’t #biblical. That’s not the way Jesus operated, and that’s not the way the early church operated either.” -Erik Manning “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” 1 Peter 3:15 📕

Look up, not in.19 “Remember my affliction and my wanderings, the wormwood and the gall!20 My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me.21 But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.24 ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him.’”Lamentations 3:18-24📕

📆August 15th at 1:30pm EST🎉Per Women in Apologetics (WIA):“Join us [YouTube, IG, or Facebook] as we interview Teasi Cannon, author and speaker, on the topic of Grief, Loss, and Resurrection Hope.Loss comes to us all. Sometimes it is the loss of a job or community. Sometimes it's the loss of health or a loved one. And when it comes ... it is often devastating. In those times we are vulnerable to the temptation to doubt God's existence, goodness, or love. It is when our hearts are most broken that remembering the evidence for the resurrection (and more) can be a life-line. We must cling to that beautiful evidence when we think all else has failed. It will protect us when we are tempted to doubt our faith the most.”#TeasiCannon #Apologetics #SpiritualAbuse #SpiritualAbuseChurch #SpiritualAbuseJourney #SpiritualAbuseHowtoIdentifyIt #TeasiCannonSpiritualAbuseJourney #Hope #Loss #Grief #Bible #ResurrectionLink: https://lnkd.in/gKDqmr_7

“The atoning death of Christ, and that alone, has presented sinners as righteous in God's sight; the Lord Jesus has paid the full penalty of their sins, and clothed them with His perfect righteousness before the judgment seat of God. But Christ has done for Christians even far more than that. He has given to them not only a new and right relation to God, but a new life in God's presence for evermore. He has saved them from the power as well as from the guilt of sin. The New Testament does not end with the death of Christ; it does not end with the triumphant words of Jesus on the Cross, ‘It is finished.’ The death was followed by the resurrection, and the resurrection like the death was for our sakes. Jesus rose from the dead into a new life of glory and power, and into that life He brings those for whom He died. The Christian, on the basis of Christ's redeeming work, not only has died unto sin, but also lives unto God.”J. Gresham MachenChristianity & Liberalism, p. 114(Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:1-6)#GoodNews

“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:9-10📕#history #Jesus #apologetics

“Biblical faith isn't a blind faith that operateswithout any reason to believe- rather, it looks at the evidence. In fact that is one of the reasons the apostles of Jesus recorded many of the miraculous signs performed by Jesus: ‘These [signs] are written down so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah’ (John 20:31).” Dr. Sean McDowell Per historian Justo L. Gonzalez, "The early Christians did not believe that they were following a new religion (worldview). They were Jews, and their main difference with the rest of Judaism was that they were convinced that the Messiah (Christ) had come, whereas other Jews continued awaiting his advent." (p. 41) For years, the Romans viewed early Christians as a variant sect of Judaism. That is until people from outside of Judaism became followers of Jesus as well. The title "Christian" was given to them by authorities in Antioch as a way to designate them as a group (Acts 11:26; 1 Pe 4:16).Historian Justo Gonzalez continues: "For those early Chrisitans, Judaism was not a rival religion to Christianity, but the same faith, even though those who followed it did not see or believe that the prophecies (of the Hebrew Scriptures/Old Testament) had been fulfilled" by Jesus. And even if someone were to ignore the eyewitness accounts compiled within the New Testament, he or she would still have a “robust description of Jesus and his followers from ancient, non-Christian voices (ninety-two historical figures).” [1]These early followers were not following a mythological tale. Nor were they staking their lives, literally, on wishful thinking. They saw Jesus back-up his claims to be God incarnate (Mk 2; Jn 5:17-18, 8:28).1. J. Warner Wallace; Person of Interest, p. 110. 📙

What should our response be to mistreatment? It’s not hate (1 Jn 4).It’s not repayment (Ro 12). And it’s not apathy (Ro 12).Instead…It’s prayer (Mt 5). It’s forgiveness (Eph 4).And it’s sharing truth in love (1 Co 13).As Greg Koukl shares as the end of his podcasts, “Give ‘em Heaven.” “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ (Jesus) forgave you.” Ephesians 4:31-32 📕

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” - Romans 1:16 (Paul AD 57 or 58)📕Paul and Peter were devout Jews who wholeheartedly believed Jesus had fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies pertaining to the promised Messiah (Christ). They had placed their hope and trust in the evidence Jesus gave regarding his identity and were compelled to share this evidence with others…even though it meant martyrdom.#history #womeninapologetics
