with this topic, how much does Denuvo affect games? I always see people online saying if It has Denuvo "no buy"
does it actually affect performance like crazy or people just full of themselves?
Space Marine 2 rejects Denuvo and DRM with a concise and simple "no"
Saber Interactive confirms that Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 will not include Denuvo or any other anti-piracy DRM when it launches.

The game has been on torrents for 2 months already, there's no need for Denuvo.

Didn't this entire game leak already? Doesn't seem too useful to license DRM in that case.

Focus hasn't been using Denuvo for a while now, it's a publisher thing imo.

I think the people that get upset about Denuvo impacting performance are mostly the same people that are upset Yuzu got shut down because it's essential for "preservation"...

Did people want a complicated no? The news is that they aren't using it, not that they said no a certain boring very normal way. What a weird way to write a headline lol

it depends on the game, the protections are largely derided as having no benefit to a paying customer

That happens when your game is developed by russians. It's the same with Atomic Heart.

There's quite a bit of proof it absolutely can based on Cracked versions of games not having the same issues which the only thing they change is removing Denuvo. It's not like that accusation came out of nowhere.

Good.
Time and time gain we see games being smash hits without denuvo both big and small, so it's absolutely not needed.

The leak included the full campaign was along with files for creating servers online. The build didn't have proper AA nor upscalers though, so it looked a bit rough without AA. The final version has DLSS and FSR2, but Frame Generation for both and Ultrawide support will be added post-launch.

why would they waste money on denuvo when the game has been out on the high seas for months?

Yah it's this. Why not lean into an easy win with the PC crowd via some Rorschach quotes even when it was pointless for you to license the DRM anyways.

I can only imagine Denuvo as the reason my playthrough of Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth had such awful performance in Hawaii that I had to stop playing the game. At the time I had a PC that met the minimum specs, and when battles would take around 15-20 seconds to start, I can only guess it's the DRM at that point as it's performing worse than the PS4 version as even my specs are above that of what the PS4 equivalents are.
You won't have an issue with Denuvo if your CPU is above average for what the game is asking for, but the DRM works by regularly checking the game, so weaker processors may be more susceptible to its issues. Be warned if your CPU is closer to the minimum for a game with Denuvo as those specs are likely listed prior to the DRM being added.
That said, the less of this shit, the better. I don't mind it in games that eventually remove it like Capcom and Square-Enix do. Namco got rid of Denuvo in their games a long while now, too. I think the only major companies that come to mind that seem to keep it on their games forever now is Sega, Ubisoft, and EA. Denuvo's changed their policy to a subscription service so publishers have to pay monthly, so some of these companies are regularly eating monthly charges for the sake of burning money.

That's nice and all but as others have pointed out, this game already leaked lol. Who's to say they wouldn't be doing Denuvo had that not happened?
